Promed looks to the future and calls Europe

(MARSALA 5th July 2013) Only a few days to the end of the project, but Promed is already looking to the future trying to find new path for research. With this aim, the Regional Institute of Wine and Oil, leader partner of the project, in collaboration with the Managing Authority of the Operational Programme Italia-Malta 2007/2013, organized an official visit which was attended by two representatives of the European Commission, Maria Filomena Carvalho and Manuela Passos.

The program includes a workshop (see photos) in order to give evidence of the results achieved on the islands of Linosa, Pantelleria, Malta and Gozo, and also to identify items of interest for a possible continuation of the project.

"We are very pleased with the attention that the European Commission has shown towards this project - said this morning Lucio Monte, Irvo director and project leader -. Both Irvo and the other project partners have certainly invested a lot of resources on Promed. And the results have paid off: we have been pursuing a path that has enabled us to achieve great things both on the vine and on that wine and we hope that this can be a starting point for future collaborations».
The official visit was also organized in order to share some strategic priorities and programmatic activities in the wine sector for the reprogramming of funds 2014-2020. For this purpose the activity will continue tomorrow in Pantelleria, with a visit to three cellars.
